Fire-fighting - our Huey and Bell 407 helicopters offer the best in water delivery to forests and nature reserves throughout South Africa. We have invested in the latest fire bucket technology, dropping up to 1500 litres of water and fire retardant, in programmable intervals or as bulk drops.

Environmental - Legend Aviation, in conjunction with Ezemvelo Wildlife, East Coast radio and The Lawrence Anthony Earth Organization, pioneered the anti-poaching initiative in the Huhluwe/uMfolozi National Park, using helicopters. It remains a success story to this day, having saved hundreds of Rhinos and other species, as well as providing educational awareness to the surrounding communities

We also offer helicopters and fixed wing aircraft for wildlife work such as darting, herding, capture and counting.

Vehicle recovery - in conjunction with Netstar, Legend Aviation is the only Durban based Company offering a 24 hour, 365 day helicopter response service. Our team is airborne within 10 minutes of being alerted and we boast a 96% recovery rate (at time of writing)

Medical ambulance - we have partnered with a ground based ambulance service to provide air ambulances and emergency evacuation. The Bell Long Ranger, 407 and Bell 430 offer a variety of configurations from single to double stretcher, and single engine day time operations, to twin engine 24 hours services.

TRAINING AT LEGEND AVIATION

Legend Aviation offers helicopter and fixed wing flight training, from Private (PPL) to Commercial (CPL). Our school is small, offering more one-on-one time. This way we aim to employ or place all of our successful students.

Our flight training is restricted to the Durban branch where the climate and geographical beauty make it one of the best training locations in Africa. We offer help to foreign students with their visas, accommodation and transport.
